The School of Social Sciences, along with the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, invites applications from eligible candidates to join us as Postdoctoral Fellows for the Academic Year 2019.
Applicants are required to propose a research project, to be carried out during their term as Postdoctoral Fellows. The research project should be in a topic that aligns well with the research focus of the School of Social Sciences.

The School also welcomes candidates with expertise that aligns well with the School's Research Clusters in the following topics:
- Contemporary environmental movements
- Behavioral economics and interventions in energy conservation
- Regionalism and regionalization charting Asia's future
- Science, technology and society
- Cognitive neuroscience
Successful candidates are expected to commence their Fellowships in July or August 2019.
Applicants must possess a doctoral degree issued no more than 3 years prior to the time of application (i.e. the degree must have been obtained after Jan 1, 2016). Candidates who are finishing up their degrees must have their doctoral degrees conferred by July 2019.

Applicants are advised to explore the research interests of faculty members to identify potential faculty mentors. They must state the Research Theme for which they are applying for on the Application Form and demonstrate in their research plan how their expertise crosses different disciplines and relates to the Theme they are applying for.
Reference Letters: Reference Letters from at least two (2) referees, are to be sent by the referees to the address indicated below. Reference Letters must be on an official letterhead, and must be signed by the referee.

The Postdoctoral Fellowship (PDF) scheme provides support of up to two years to recent PhD graduates who demonstrate outstanding promise in research and teaching in their fields of study. By offering new scholars the opportunity to develop research publications, hone their teaching, and network with academics, the scheme serves as a bridge between the scholars’ doctoral training and their entry into faculty careers.
The Postdoctoral Fellowships are for one year, renewable for a second year, subject to satisfactory performance. Appointed Postdoctoral Fellows may be required to assist in teaching up to the equivalent of one semester-based course per academic year.
