Applying economic analysis to the law, such as in determining amount of traffic fines, can yield interesting insights, wrote Albert Winsemius Chair Professor and Head of Economics at NTU Euston Quah. Big Data will aid in the continuing expansion of law and economics beyond conventional topics. Used prudently, Big Data can allow us to gain insights into complex problems at the juncture of law and economics – some of which are being compounded by how it is reshaping the economy, he added.
